The muter made adornments.. the tempers and bindings.. they sell for cheap cheap. I typically sell them right back to the fuel guy. As for the other adornments that your *actual artisan* can make, such as a carpenter made fastening or ornament, those are still kinda spot on for what I have listed. Another thing to keep in mind, if your artisan isn't high enough to make the other adornments, the actual fragments and powders sell rather well on the broker. My level 50 - 60 fragments can sell for anything around 12 - 20g each. The powders 17g - 25g each. I sold a few of each and made 4 plat over night

It's been a long time since I finally hit 350 in transmuting, but I got there by crafting mostly gray, tier 1, adornments. A nice player told me her technique. Stop the combine at the end of the very first line, the lowest level, just as it dipped down into the second line. I tried it. It worked. I made far more skill ups with the tier 1 combines than I was averaging in the combines I was up to at the time - mid tier 2. I'd get skillups once about every ten conbines that way.
It was a lot cheaper than buying the expensive treasured items I'd need to keep doing combines at level. I had a toon on the old starting island who kept me in treasured items to get the powders and frags I needed. Still, it took months to do while adventuring too. I think I started transmuting at the end of last year, shortlay after EOF came out. I didn't get to 350 until March. At that point I had 20 gold between all my toons.
I wonder if SOE has "fixed" this, the poor woman's path to transmuting:)

Yup, it goes a lot faster that way; you just don't get as many fragments back as finishing the fourth bar. Of course, I always run out of powders and have a big stack of frags left over anyway.
Yes, you can still get skill-ups on grey combines; I don't know what the rate is, though. I would hope you'd have a better chance at a skill up on a harder recipe? Anyone have any info on this?

Not sure on that one Fasci.
But has anyone else noticed that the skill ups seem harder to get on a new recipe....as you advance towards midpoint of the recipe the skill ups come quicker and then once you get the item to green the skill ups seem to get hard again.
While making my way from 125-150 Muting I had a hell of a time getting skill ups in the 125-135 range. Once there the skill ups flew. At one point I think I had 5 skill ups out of 6 combines. But once again I hit the 145 Range and Couldn't get a skill up to save my life. I am currently on the road from 150-175 I am thinking that if this is true then somewhere midway 162 or so I should see an increase in skill ups.
Will let you all know how that turns out.

Because of the amount of fragments you get back on the pristines, I always go for the pristine each time. That's 5 - 6g less for me to blow on an item if I can get more back from each combine Het, I've never noticed a pattern with my muter... but I work on my skills bits at a time.

HEHE I prefer to make massive runs...30-40 Pts at a time. I have been known to dedicate entire days to just tradeskilling...then after that I take weeks off at a time.
