This was prompted by a discussion I had with Leiha. Pristine crafting can be had almost 100% of the time if the tradeskill arts are used correctly. I have a system, which is similar to the one in the sticked link but to me when I first read it just confused me. This for lvl 20 and crafters above.
All crafters get new crafting spells/arts to use every 10 or so levels. Each tier usually focuses on either Durability of the product or Progess of the Product. The key is to build up durability of your product pass 100%, which you cannot see. Then use your progress skills to finish off the product. Each tier gives 3 skills to use, one of which uses your power. The key is to setup a hotbar with both your current tier skills and your last tier skills. I sort mine by durabilty and progress. My hotbar would look like..
durability, durabilty, durability - that uses power, progress, progress, progress - that uses power
To build up durability in your product, you have to spam and time to the floating numbers. When I start to create a product, I immediately click on both my durability skills which require no power. Then I wait for the tick, which will show floating numbers. Green good numbers, red bad. Once the tick hits, I then spam both durability which do not require power again and then wait for the tick again. I continue this process until the blue progress bar is about 2/3 of the way to making the first tier. I then switch over to using my progress skills ie spaming them based on the tick. The only times I deviate from spamming is for countering. If my green bar for the pristine goes below 100%, I switch back to spaming my durability skills based on the tick explained above.
So far with this method above I have not failed one single pristine combine all the way to lvl 42 in jeweler. Of course I had some practice with lil as a provisioner to work out my technique.
I hope this helps out any crafters who are starting out.
