not that we should be stockpiling, but you might want to hang on to some of those crafted goods if possible.this may be coming...
from LU24 notes" "The good news is that we are working on an exciting new writ system in which you can directly sell your crafted items to a vendor for status for yourself and guild."
now we'll have to see how that gets implemented, but would be nice.

Thanks Coica. I don't make food/drink for selling but just for skilling up and I've been a tad miffed that they are selling this stuff nearly below cost..the market right now is completely flooded. I can't even sell my old long drink 4 gold stuff for 95 silver! I was just hoping to get some coin for my time to fund my addiction for my master spells lol. I will probably yank all my old stuff atleast to see if I can atleast get guild status out of it.
The new stuff is selling for too cheap due to all the old stuff flooding the market..not even worth time to do it..grrr..but maybe after this change goes into effect it'll help things out otherwise the market will stay flooded for much longer. I can't wait until I hit 70.

Does it need to be the original crafter who puts the items into the new writ system? And does anyone know what crafting schools are accepted?
Next on the list of things to do is fine one!

For the writs, you need to craft the items yourself. As to which crafting school is accepting? I don't know what you mean by that

One of my alts has cooking to nearly 30 while the crafting level for Maniac is Sage 21 (I think), hence the first question.
The second question was to find out if any crafted items are not excepted by the writ giver.

Oh Well yeah, the person picking up the writ needs to create the items. You can't purchase the items from a vender or get an alt to make them for you. And for Ironforge Writs (crafting writs) it is based on your character's artisan class. So if Maniac were to pick up an Ironforge writ, you'd be asked to make Sage items.

The question I have with this "exciting new writ system" is how will it differ from the "boring old writ system"? Most importantly will you be able to use items previously created or will you have to make the stuff after you get the writ?

I would think you have to use stuff after not from before. If you used stuff from before that wouldn't exactly be fair. Also, there was a dev chat interview thingy the other day. It looks like they will be fixing it so some items are once again profitable if you sell them back to the wholeseller. Right now you lose money

Hmm..well the word *fair* is an interesting word and I think depends on the perspective. I think they pretty much screwed the food/drink market and if you had any old drink/food, it's completely worthless and still saturates the market not allowing the new stuff to develop it's own market. Even my new stuff is worthless atm and I'm far from overpriced and quite a few stacks are available at vendor cost on the market. It would have been a much smarter change for Sony to have had a way to get rid of excess old stuff at the very least. Now THAT would have been fair . But this is Sony we are talking about hehe..they *never* think ahead. I actually don't see a problem with being able to use prior made or bought food/drink for status points (maybe not to fill writs as we knew them). It definitely would help the food/drink market out. Something similar is already being done to other objects such as status statues/amulets and the like are sold off the market. Of course it might be a good thing to add some rules around it so that one could only buy so many in a day/week, otherwise no one would be able to afford food/drink lol. Another solution would be to just make a turn in guy just for old stuff. But I'm dreaming there that they'd even care to help the market out.

Yep, they screwed the market over..but not just provisioners...I think they screwed everyone But being able to use old stuff wouldn't be right. It'd be completely unfair to those that don't know the change is coming and dump all their stuff at a loss to the merchant. (I'm guessing all professions are the same in that you actually lose money now by selling back to the merchant. Another stupid move they made) Also trades like provisioner who can have stacks of items would have a completely unfair advantage over other professions that don't have goods that stack. Just my thoughts anyway. I think if they are going to bring this in, everyone needs to start on the same playing field. And hey, at least with food it's consumable and people will always need more. They only need 1 desk, or 1 shield, or a couple of spells or 1 set of armor per tier (not that they'd want it now anyway since it got nerfed to crap )

It was the Alt items I was interested in. Maniac hasn't made any items for a long time. My Provisioner alt on the other hand is busy every day and is now knocking on level 32.
