Check this out: eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=testfeed&message.id=41075They just seem to keep dumbing down tradeskills more and more... In one respect this'll make them much less tedius (no more 6 hours of making interims to make 2 breastplates), but in another it'll take most of the meat out of tradeskilling. And completely flood the markets. (no interims = no more exp from making those interims = more finished made to make up for it = more finished items laying about on the market) Plus, while it's mindnumbingly boring on my armorer/sage, those interims are what makes my provisioner fun! Take em out and...

I'm sorry... I don't see what you're talking about... but I also just woke up and I can't comprehend anything... lol I know from saine that being an armorer is totally tedius. I don't know much about sages.

There were so many posts in that thread, I'm not sure what it was talking about either, and I was too tired to read through it hehe. I think maybe it was saying that you won't need the interim products now, you can use raws to make the finished product?? Like you can craft a piece of armor with a metal cluster instead of doing the 18 or so combines it takes normally? Is that right? If it is, yikes, they are going a LITTLE overboard.

Yeah, there was a screenshot about midway down that post (I should have mentioned that before...) which showed some spell recipes that are on test right now. One pic shows the old type (ink+quill+paper+incense), and the new pic shows it just it needing roots and wood and a raw soft. Sorry if I wasn't very clear up above. ;D

Hmmm... so you don' thave to go through the steps of making the ink.. making the quill or making the paper? You just need... the harvested items?

Yep, that's how it's looking right now. I think they won't start working on more recipes til LU19b though, so we'll see then whether it's kept or lost

Being an armorer, which I think is close to, if not the most tedious crafter in the game, I'm all for simplifying the tradeskills, but I think this goes a LITTLE overboard. The boosted xp I liked a lot, but this is just crazy!
Rather than do that, I'd prefer they just do stuff like make 1 refined bar make 4 studs instead of 1. Or 1 piece of leather makes 3 harnesses etc.
Oh well, we'll have to see if this one makes it live. Sounds like a bad idea in an otherwise really good looking update.

What I would really like to see with tradeskills is a "mini" image of the finished product as it would appear on your character or in your house. This especially for those who make furniture, weapons, and armor. All my little icons of furniture look identical... and nothing like the final product. We have dedicated websites that provide furniture galleries.. but none that feature armor or shields. I know looks aren't everything, but I'm a bit partial to looking good and I think I could sell my furniture better if people actually "knew" what they were buying.

So you're talking about sorta "dress armor", armor with no stats but has the same look at the armor. That'd be nice to play around with. ;D
As for the furniture, it would be neat if when you examine it in the broker, it might do something like the DoF crystal ball, or the Splitpaw shard does when ou examine it. That'd be really neat, but really hard to impliment I think.

hehe, not about "dress armor" persay... but there was a time when I looked horrible because all my armor miss matched really bad. There are some things that have very similar stats... I might have went with something that matched better instead of looking like a train wreck I have no idea what you mean by the DoF crystal ball?

When I got DoF, I got a crystal ball house item which floats out a picture in front of it. Looks kinda cool though the ball itself shows through it... I'll take a SS tonight when I get home to show you, kinda hard to describe.

Here're some shots of the crystal ball and its effect, I also shot one of the bug where the ball shows through the image. ;D Here's what the house item looks like, and a pic of the image. And here's the bug. Now wouldn't that be cool to see if you examine a house item in the broker? Hard to impliment, but cool! ;D

Looks like they only added the removal of subcombines for Spells and CAs. Which means my sage and alchy are gonna level up soo much faster. ;D

And us poor armorers are left in the dirt *sniff*
Wonder if they are just testing it on the spells, and will be moving it to the rest of the classes after. I still think it's a bad idea all around though.
Btw that globe thing is really cool. I didn't get anything like that. How did you get it?
