So, what do you do when you have dorks in the market... that sell things so low you can't even compete?
I make furniture... and there are some blokes in the market that are selling T4 items for 1 gold each... egads! bleh... Not only is the price really low... They also make at least 5-6 of the same item.. so the market is low and flooded...
I know that Saine has ran into some problems with this.. Is there anything that we can do?

Plaguemonger anyone? lol
I try to cut my prices lower than theirs if I can, in the hopes that they will stop dropping theirs and raise them a bit. If that doesn't work for tradeskill items, I tend to just do the city tradeskill tasks instead. I don't know how well they pay for other classes, but for T5 armorer I was getting about 30-40 gold per writ (of course it takes FOREVER to make a piece of armor) At least this way I was making more money than I was had I had to undercut even more on the market.

If there are only a few of each item lower priced then should be, why not by them up and resell for your price.. not only will there be no others on market lower, but you make a profit on each?
That's a big gamble, cause what tends to happen is you buy them all up, so the other guy throws 5 more on...now you have his plus yours to try and get rid of, and he's still undercutting it too low. (yes, speaking from experience there lol)

hmm.. going the writ route might be a good idea.. money and points for the guild. Unfortunately, I cannot buy the lower cost things because the guy makes about 5-6 of each thing..

Well, that's the main problem with a system like this. There isn't really much demand for crafted goods anymore (drops and quested goods are much better very often), and with people leveling up there's a large amount of supply for crafted goods. So naturally the prices plummet. Items don't move, so people price them lower just to get rid of them.
For example, I've finally decided that it's not really worth it to sell the potions or App IVs I make with Bwalic over the broker. No one buys them, and they just clog up my vault boxes. And that's with the prices at only a few silver over what I'd get from a vendor. So I just craft em up, and sell them back to the vendor for what they cost to make em. I get hit whem I have to buy a new book, but otherwise I have 40 potions & AppIVs sitting in my box not doing anything.
My sage is even worse off. Now that he's in tier 4, Adept Is are plentiful. So who wants App IVs? I'll do market research, find which spells have decent prices, put em in my vault, and they don't move. Sure, people may have priced em decently, but no one's buying them when they can get Adept Is. So those go straight to the vendor too.
As for Inex's idea, it probably won't work. The products just aren't moving. People aren't buying crafted items unless they're legendary now. And those are usually on commission as well, not through the broker. So you'll buy all those items, and they'll sit there until the cows come home.

Saine: I was wondering about that Alkanos: I totally hear ya. I think the only artisan class that really makes any money at all is the Provisioner. People gotta eat and drink.
