Woot, I LOVE the new tradeskill xp!! I actually gained 3 full levels today in about 5 hours (using the birthday xp potions, man those are NICE) Anyway, I can now make imbued ebon armor! YAY The price of ebon has dropped a ton now. I usually see it priced between 85 gold - 1.25 plat per, which is way cheap compared to what it used to be. So if anyone needs any ebon armor, imbued ebon, or regular fulginate/imbued armor, let me know and I will glady make ya some. It will cost me around 2-3 gold for the materials for most items (tons and tons of fuel )

Well, if you're providing the ebon... ;D Actually with Alk on semi-retirement I won't be needing armor for the moment. But thanks for the offer!

Saine, I was collecting for ebon in RV last night. And I got a Strange Black Ore, is that ebon cluster. or does it have to say EBON CLUSTER.
just excited to get some gear. hehe
also does anyone have a favorite place they like to go for ebon clusters?

A Strange Black ore is not the same as ebon unfortunately. Hmm.. I'm not sure of a good place to get ebon

Yah, I kinda felt that hehe.
Anyone know what it is used for? I did not get a ding update from it. just quietly put it in my inventory from a sedentary ore in RV.

I think the strange black ore is used by weaponsmiths to make wyrmsteel or something.
As far as getting Ebon, I always went up and down the river in Feerrott. I found it easiest as there wasn't a lot of aggro...granted I only ever found 2 clusters out of literally hundreds of ores lol but still...easy to find them there anyway.

Yep, black ore is for wyrmsteel, has a nice proc on it if you're fighting dragons or drakotas. And t5 rares have been a pain in the butt for me to find so far. Best bet would probably be the one path in EF. The only aggro things are the occasional wolves and they're pretty easy to avoid/kill. It's the path running up the western? side of EF. ( at least I think it's the western side)

I now have 2 Strange Black Ores, spent like 3 hours lookin for ebon while workin skills up to T6 harvesting. and just one rare, had to be the darn wyrmsteel weapon again. Can anyone make me something from those? Or are the quest oriented?
Now at least I can learn Sinking Sands while I hunt for Cobalt. anyone have a suggestion where to mine for it?

The harvesting in DoF is a little different than the rest of the game. The nodes spawn in places where it would make sense to have them, instead of just being random. IE fungus is in the caves, rocks are along cliff walls, shrubs and roots in the grassy/junglish areas.
For finding cobalt, you'll want to be running up and down the orc highway. There's a large cliff on one side, follow that along and that's where the rocks all spawn. Hopefully all the bots have moved on to T7 so you can actually get some now.
As for the strange black ores, we dont have any weaponsmiths in the guild, so you won't be able to get anything done with those. (Plus I think you have to go somewhere and be fighting while the guy crafts the stuff)
