Yep, they were both pristines, and neither of em were for discovery XP. So I dunno...
But Palen, you do know that you get more XP for interim recipes than for refines, right? Same goes for more XP for finishes over interims. Cause the strip would be a refine, and the plate would be an interim. Maybe that's why you got extra XP?

Sooooo...they have changed Tradeskills again...
It now takes less tradeskill XP to gain levels as an artisan. - The bonus previously given to tradeskill XP has been converted into these shorter tradeskill levels. - You may notice that you are logging in with more tradeskill experience than you had when you last logged out.
I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing....

They what?
... so the exp has been reduced and the amount of exp needed to level has been reduced as well?

The exp is back to where it was before (in how much you got per craft), and they lowered the amount you need for a level now. Which is basically the same as before I think...just differently worded and coded... So I have no clue what's going on. ;D They had a big argument in Qeynos Crafters this morning about it, the gist of it was that the lvl 60 crafters are pissed because A: They'll be getting competition now and can't charge as much, or B: The new crafters didn't have to work as hard for what they're getting. It's one of those two things, depending on how you think ;D or a little of both maybe. Either way, it's all very confusing...

YEa back to the same amount of XP that we used to get...but now it just takes less to level..and you will find that when you log in, you probably have more tradeskill XP than you did the last time you played...
WHen I logged in today they had given me an extra 32% which was nice, cause it let me ding WOOT!

LOL shylah! Did you try crafting something so that you would ding? Maybe yours carried into the next level? Or maybe you were just really unlucky hehe

How much extra tradeskill exp I gained was different for each character. Fonia picked up about 25% and was able to ding with one combine but Zabia only picked up about 5%. Also Erena picked up very little as she had not crafted since she last gained a level and only had 3%. As far as the difference it will make in how long it takes to level I have no idea as I have spent all my time lately trick or treating and doing the other Halloween things Zabia

That's how it was with all of my characters...they were all close to leveling before the update so I got squat. Ah well, no difference really then.

I have no idea how they calculated the bonus xp that you got. My characters received such totally varied amounts that it's hard to figure out. Palen (provisioner) who had 7.2% into lvl 52 got about 55% bonus but was the one who crafted the least of all my characters during the xp bonus. Temeren, who crafted about 1/2 of a level to ding 29 received about 17%. Aganon (tailor) got about 40% bonus and only crafted about 1/2 of a level (was 46% into 19 and I dinged him to 20). Yet another of my alts (lvl 12 scholar) got about 55-60%. He was the main one I've crafted with during the bonus xp period.
As I said, the amounts given vs the amount crafted is very widespread, especially given similar circumstances in crafting (crafting to ding then not crafting).

FYI - Xp for provisioners is totally screwed up. I finally got a chance to log in and experiment a bit with some of the tier 6 recipies. For some reason, Maj Dul coffee and some of the other drink recipies gives WAY too much XP. The recipe for coffee is 2 lvls below me and gives between .71 and .83% xp (yes the amount flucuates) for a one combine item. Even 1 combine recipies are giving .6%. Three combine even recipies are giving about .74%. Don't ask me to explain what is happening. I personally think Sony just has a bit more work ahead of them.
