I didn't read all the details for the upcoming Live Update, but I watched the Desert of Flames video thingy. Within it, they talked about more opportunities for lvl 50 artisans.
Do any of you guys have any idea what that means? Just more recipes or something?

Yea they will definitely have more recipies, if it means more than that I don't know...It would be kinda cool if they customized the tradeskills more. Like you could choose what colour you wanted the armor or furniture or whatever to be. Whatever they are doing is supposedly a big improvement to the way tradeskills are now, hopefully it is!

Ooo! what a great idea! I never thought of that... being able to customize our products with color... that would rock! You should post that in the official forums if you haven't all ready

FYI - with DoF and LU 13 out now, I can officially say that tier 6 tradeskills are messed up. This doesn't affect any of you except Candu so you are lucky.
The good: They have changed recipies around for provisioners. We can now make actual food/drink items at level 50. Malt, which used to be used only later on to make alcoholic beverages, is now a drink. Thanks for all the crazy people out there in a mad dash to 60 who bought my drinks at 1.11 gold each (I was the first in Qeynos with drinks on the market).
The bad: You DON'T get xp like you should. Why do I say this? Well, with vitality, I can craft tier 6 items and get .2% xp each item. The problem is that I can craft a level 45 tier 5 item and get .3% and .4% with a level 48 item. It's a bit retarded.

Well I was about to try out making some food but the servers went down without any notice. At least before they went down I managed to get Fonia's hot bars sorted out. Anyway I assume it is essentially the same for tradeskills under level 50?

Under 50 is fine, it's just tier 6 items that are like this. It is for any tier 6, too, since I made tempers, etc. also and only got .2% xp with them too. For tier 5 items, as everyone will find out when they get there, it takes a lot of xp to ding so the 0.3-0.4% xp for a blue recipe is really good.

Would the gaining more experience for a week due to the updates have anything to do with it. I know they said it only worked for characters under lvl 50.

Nah, the xp bonus was only for adventuring, not tradeskilling

I played my provisioner the other day and I seemed to be getting exp very fast. I went from 10% into level level 37 to about 50% thru level 38 in about an hour and a half. It has been a long time since I have done tradeskills but this seemed very fast to me.

Wow that was fast...maybe that's one of the actual changes to tradeskilling. I know I read posts from the dev's that the bonus xp was not added to tradeskilling, I kinda wish it had been, I might have actually attempted to do some armoring lol. The T6 tradeskills are pretty messed up. T6 armor is garbage And the T6 food and drinks are showing up as level 50 instead of 60...I think they messed up weaponsmithing too..no one (tradeskillers) seems very happy with the changes after the update.

Yeah, t6 food/drink is really messed up. It shows as level 50 items. Luckily, things like the coffee are obviously tier 6 (Maj 'Dul coffee) so people will buy it but otherwise why buy T6 when you can get T5 for less?

I think that maybe the first few levels of t6 give out better t5 foods and such, but once you get further into the 50-60 level range you'll start getting actual t6 foods to make. I'm not really sure though, since my provisioner's only lvl 33. ;D Just a hypothesis.

Do a search for Maj' Dul coffee and you will see what I am talking about. Drink lists as level 50 and is giving the same regen. I thought, at first, that the stats of the drink were showing the amount capped by your level but it shows the same stats for my character and for Saine. It's messed up. I still sell a few but, unfortunately, most of my xp and profit will be from t5 items.
