Part IIa takes us to training or just a taste.
Part II – The Training of young Furflies
So as to not upset the Elders, Furflies immediately found Priestess Flaena; it was strange being sent to a woman to teach him how to be a defender of Qeynos but the council spoke.
Well Priestess Flaena was also evaluating this wet-behind the ears Kerran and was having a hard time making her decision on what it was he should be. As Furflies got closer, Flaena invited him into her hovel, ducking to get inside Furflies quickly found that he felt a sense of peace while inside her house. Looking around, he saw herbs, cloaks and many many books.
Flaena spoke and when she did Furflies took note at how calm and peaceful her voice was. Soothing him into a trance as she spun tale of adventure, fights and near death experiences he sat mesmerized. After hours she stop speaking and Furflies groggily started to stand, not sure what he had learned if anything, but yet sensed that he had learned great volumes somehow magically. As he stood on shaky feet and turned to leave, Flaena said I will see you tomorrow at 5:53am.
Furflies left Flaena’s house not really sure what had happened and definitely not sure if he wanted to be told he had to be somewhere at 5:53am. Not wanting to spend money on a room at the inn, Furflies found a place hidden in the shadows, settling in he felt comfortable that he would not be found he drifted to sleep.
As he slept, his dreams came in waves almost as intense as the attackers that were in them. Over and Over he fought them, killing and retreating back to the shadows. Snapping wide awake at 5:30 he rubbed his Kerran eyes and stretched out in the darkness.
He made his way to Flaena’s house and arrived at 5:53 just as he was told do to. Priestess Flaena appeared as if she had not slept or that she had gotten up extremely early as her appearance was spotless. Speaking first, Furflies asked if Flaena could explain why he had dreamt so violently last night. An amused smile took shape on Flaena’s face, she asked more about the dreams wanting to know exactly what each contained, what he did in each and the outcome.
Furflies responded with a story of fighting, healing and protecting. He explained that in one of them he kept dipping his sword in some sort of green liquid. When he mentioned this the smile quickly left Flaena’s face and a deep frown took shape. She rushed to her books and madly flipped page after page and then slammed them down and abruptly turned to Furflies and told him to leave her home immediately.
