Personal Status Points, which differs from Guild Status Points, are gained by completing Writs and Heritage Quests. However, you must also be a member of a guild to attain these points.
Personal Status Points can be found on the "Details" tab of your personal profile. To view your details tab, press the letter "P" and select the details tab, while in-game. Below your name, you should find your accumulated personal status points.
These points can be used to purchase items from the City Merchant as well as rent a status home or appartment. Again, this is only available to those who are members of a guild.
City Merchants can be found all over the city of Qeynos or Freeport. It will say <city merchant> below their names. Items can be purchased there with personal status points (indicated in aqua blue text and the letters "SP") and coin.
This is the same when you go to rent a home with status and coin. The status amount is indicated with aqua blue text and the letters (sp). Weekly rent will include a coin fee and status fee. However, you can reduce your status fee to zero by decorating your home with "status reduction" furniture.
