Probaly Repeat Question on Transmuting

Sorry folks if this has been asked and answered but I cannot search anymore.

My question: Is Transmuting a secondary skill meaning if I am a Carpenter now can I transmute as well?

If so how do I go about getting the skill. This skill interests me for some unknown reason and would like to try it out.

So either way I plan to do it with either my main as a secondary skill or my alt SK.

Again my apologies if I am rehashing an old question.

Transmuting is a secondary tradeskill that can be "leveled" up with skill increases. You can do this in addition to your primary tradeskill.

Tinkering cannot be skilled up if you choose to do Transmuting. The EoF expansion is required to do these secondary tradeskills.

I believe that NPCs on the Butcherblock docks can grant these secondary professions. There are also NPCs in Kelethin for goody characters.

Yep, on the BB docks for both the tinkering and transmuting trainers.

One other thing, they have changed this, so you no longer need to have a primary tradeskill to do the secondary one. When they first came out, it was based upon your TS level as to how high you could go. Now, it is just based upon whichver is higher, your TS or adventure level. My transmuter for example has never crafted a thing lol

If you do go transmuting, be prepared to spend A LOT of plat or have a VERY slow progression ;D

Let the very slow progression begin. I have started transmutting as of last night. Am currently 12 skill level and just farming low level stuff on the island with my new island buddy.

You weren't kidding when you said it went slow.

hehe you think that's slow, wait til you reach 100 and can't skill up on the breakdowns anymore ;D

I mentored and farmed the heck out of the caves for the first while. You can still skill up on stuff that is really low level once you are higher, it just takes even longer lol

That's where I left Tarth, too! I think I managed to get Tarth to about 120 in transmuting before I shifted gears to work on Brandl's Tinkering skill.
