Just saw a post from Illucide on the SoE forums about a couple of changes coming to tinkering in GU 33 In GU33, tinkerers will notice a couple changes, and I just want to give everyone a heads-up on them ahead of time now that I've got the changes ready to go. Thing #1: After reviewing the build components used in Tinkering recipes, the number of components used has been reduced by half across the board. Fuel costs remain unchanged, but the number of components returned by successful recipe creation has also been halved. The overall net result is a lot less resource usage for tinkerers. Thing #2: Tinkering has picked up some new adornments. Specifically, bow cams and the like, adornments for all those bow-users out there. The recipes can be found all over the place. Some can only be found out in the world and some have been collected and are being offered for sale by a gnome in Steamfont. These aren't meant to be a finale to adjustments in tinkering by any means, but they're on their way to Test soon(ish). Stop by and try them out when they get there. Let me know what you think. -Ilu Good news for you guys trying to level one up

Yay! Now I won't have to harvest loams for an hour for 5 minutes of tinkering. ;D Plus, I can make my own bow adornments!

The resource usage change will be nice. And hooray for adornments. I wonder if they'll give tink skill-ups, too?

speaking of which, can anyone make the high lvl adornments yet? Coica needs to get a shield adornment, cant recall off the top of my head what kind the shield ones are, but its a heal reactive proc and there are NONE on the broker, and only 1 shield adornment PERIOD as of last night. I will pay whatever if anyone can make these yet. of course gimme a week to make some plat as I bought a new shield yesterday and had to have a fire sale just to come up with 16 plat! <---spends too much time farming $ in loping plains.

Coica you need a t7 woodworker to make that adornment I think.
Each tradeskill class can make different adornments. The list I have is showing woodworker for shields.

ok... Shylah is going to be a Transmuter. She is 8/350 or so... My question is what level items can I break down in the first group/tier? So far I've broken down level 1 - 2... but is it really 1 - 10?

Q. Can any level transmuter transmute any level item? A. No. You can transmute items that are up to 5 levels above your current skill level. Details: Transmuters are bound by skill levels. A transmuter's maximum possible skill is based off of their primary tradeskill level or their adventuring level, whichever is higher. As with any skill, you have a current skill and a maximum skill. You start with a transmuting skill of 1. If you are learning to transmute at craftsman 10, for example, this would show as transmuting 1/50. If you are learning to transmute when already a level 70 crafter, your skill will be 1/350. To increase your current skill level up to your maximum skill level, you transmute items (if below skill 100) or craft adornments that are found in the Enigma of the Transmuter books, for a chance at a skillup. Q. How do I figure out which level items I can transmute, when my skill is listed by raw skill, not level? A. Your transmuting level is your raw skill divided by five. (Drop any fraction). Then add 5 to find the maximum level of items you can transmute. Example: You start with a skill of 1, which allows for the transmuting of items of level 5. A transmuting skill of 20 would translate to level 4, (20/5=4). This would allow you to transmute level 9 (4+5) or lower items from www.mboards.eqtraders.com/eq2/showthread.php?t=6502

Be prepared to spend a lot of plat Shy You actually WILL make it back by the time you get through T7, but it's a lot to put out at first. BTW, I highly recommend going into the caves and mentoring there. You can easily get through to about 100/350 by breaking down the stuff from there. It didn't take me too long in there, and I was getting a ton of stuff. (put a lowbie char on Ebou's PC and mentor it hehe)

Well...unless you want it to take forever, and I do mean forever, you will probably need to buy stuff lol It goes faster, just gets expensive. If you just go off stuff you loot, it takes a very long time lol

I'm cheap, so what I do is buy t1 rares on the broker for up to 1 gold, no higher. Then I turn them into t1 mastercrafted, transmute them, and make adornments. The chance to get a skillpoint on a grey adornment is only 25% though, so it takes a lot longer to level. Plus, I have to first craft the mastercrafted then the adornments, so each transmuting session takes a while. Cheap, but mindnumbingly boring. ;D

I did that until skill level 150 or so Alk. Then I couldn't handle it anymore lol I farmed the caves like a mad woman. I was transmuting like 60-80 lvl 8-10 items and getting 2-3 skill ups off them. It was horrible! Then I decided to try with items my own level. The skill ups came SOOOOOOO much faster lol Actually once I started buying the items, it only took me about 4 hours (if that) to make it to T7. The T7 adornments sell really, really, really fast. I can put 20 on the broker and 18 of them will be gone within 2-3 days. Even with buying the powders/fragments at T7, I still make a nice profit off them. If you were to buy your way up to T7, you would make your money back very very quickly. I was worried I wouldn't, but they sell so fast, that it's easy. Also, I believe alchemists make the chest piece adornment. It's either legendary or fabled, so it takes/costs a lot more to make one, but those should sell very, very well too They add +6 to all, or almost all your stats, which is really nice.
