With EoF you get the choice of choosing a secondary tradeskill of either transmuting or tinkering.
It sounds like both will be hard and take a lot of work to level up. Some posts I have seen said it would take 70 raws to make 1 recipie at level 70. Crazy!
Is anyone planning on doing these? If so, which are you planning to do? I want to do one, not much else for me to do with Saine...just no idea which one I want to do.

I'll probably end up doing both. One for Shylah and one for Karis. I think I'll "tinker" with Shy and "transmute" with Karis.
That's if "tinker" means you take stuff out of an item... if not, then I'll do just the opposite ;D

I guess it depends on if you like breaking things or building things...
I'm a breaker so.. Transumuter for me.
It is going to be interesting in seeing what this does to the market. Everyone will be boxed into the 2 new professions so I am thinking there are going to be tons and tons of both.
So, I wouldn't plan on making Money doing either.

Well if they are in fact as difficult to level as it looks, you may be able to make money in it if you are dedicated. People not really interested will be dropping out fast.
I was thinking of doing the transmuting also, but trying to get ahold of enough legendary and fabled items to break them down will be near impossible, especially once you get to T5 or T6. Raid guilds have a HUGE advantage with this.
So that got me thinking maybe I should do tinkerer. I like harvesting and could get my own raws, but there will be sooooooo many people doing this, will it actually be worth the effort? I don't see tinkerers making much money. Would probably make money harvesting to sell to the tinkerers lol

Well I went tinkerer with Saine and oh my goodness...saying that you need a lot of raws is a major understatement! I have gone through a couple hundred leaded loams so far (t1 loam) and still haven't made it to T2. (no idea when I will get there either) If you are planning on doing tinkerer, I hope you stocked up on the raws or it will be a long painful process lol right now leaded loam is selling for 2gp each..so if you need money for your fae alts, harvest those loams. Lead is selling high too. Speaking of loams...Nalen put some leaded loams in GB3 for me last night and Bart put a bunch of loam in GB3 for me today...we all forgot that there was a withdrawl limit on that particular bank so I can't get it out So Shylah, if you get logged on today, could you take the loams out and mail them to me, or put them in GB4 so I can actually use them lol

yea we didn't even think of it, cause we didn't think a stack of the same item would count as 50 items...oh well! Tonight is fine If I manage to make it out of the tier, I will just put them back for someone else to use...in bank 4

I'm too lazy to select a main craft skill, let alone a secondary one

The better part of my alts have higher tradeskill levels than adventure levels, so you can guess that I jumped right into this as soon as Rykshi told me about it.... I absolutely POUNCED on Tinkerer (because I LOVE Engineering in WoW).... and came to find out that it takes 8 leaded loam per for the lowest crafting recipe (I used to throw those away since they were the least useful of the things you got out of mineral veins).... AND I've made 7 of them and gotten 2 skill-ups, so I'm kinda bummed. I guess I'll go transmuting with my armorer - but at this rate, it might be in a few years...

lol I've been hearing the same thing. I wonder if they are going to lower the amount of raws necessary for these two skills. They did it before with the normal tradeskills.. they'll probably do it again.. so I'm kind of waiting it out... while havesting every rock I see

I don't think they are going to lower the requirements, this is how they wanted it to work by the sounds of it. They want to make sure that it's something people are dedicated to.
I FINALLY made it out of the T1 stuff, what a nightmare, though T2 isn't a whole lot better lol
The worst part is that 95% of the stuff I can make as a tinkerer can only be used by tinkerers (who can already make it) or is no trade. I'm pretty disappointed in that. If I had known that ahead of time I wouldn't have wasted so much time. Oh well. I hope it's a bug that they fix.
