I know with our last update, there have been some Artisan quests added. Have any of you done these quests? Are they worth while? What do you get? Any cool recipes or items? Do you only get artisan exp?

Palen and I did them. They are VERY tedious. Basically you are making low level recipies, one for each type of crafting. I believe there were 9 or 10 in total. Your reward as you do them is a little bit of xp and the artisan essentials books that you will already have bought from the merchant when you started crafting lol. At the end you get a tunic that is supposed to help you with crafting, it was pretty lame, adds 1 or 2 (can't remember) to each skill whoopie.
Overall I think I got about 4% artisan xp total, which I guess isn't too bad, given my level. Palen was very nice and made all the ingredients for me, so all I had to do was the final combine, otherwise it would have taken probably 2-3 hours to do them all ugh.

Wow, doesn't sound like much fun That's the hardest part for me.. doing lower level recipes.. because I don't have the raw materials. So I go to the vender and you get tuber strands from Antonica for 2-3 silver? nooooo! So I run out to harvest and before you know it, I'm adventuring with guildies instead ;D I have no discipline

They are a good way to start of your new characters, though. You get all the books and a bag (think it's still bugged) and lots of artisan xp. At level 22, Temeren made about 23% xp. At level 12, including crafting (minus what was greyed out of course) I gained over 3 levels. Obviously if you do them when you first get off the IoR you will get to level 9+ just from doing the quests.
Also, if you have low level artisan alts, have them craft duplicates of everything so they get extra xp and then your main doesn't have to craft grey stuff except for the final combine. And, BTW, go gather your own supplies. People have gone retarded and want more for tier 1 stuff than some of the tier 5 stuff sells for. Tin clusters, for instance, usually start at 3 silver. If anyone needs tier 1 crafting items, give me a holler since I have a mule on the IoR that can get tons of the stuff without fighting for it.

Yeah, it's amazing what people are trying to sell stuff for these days. I see adept I's for sell for multi-Plat prices (multi-plat!!!). You can price anything for anything but I am wondering if people are actually buying this stuff at those prices Here's my secret to starting a new crafter. 0 - 14 make spice packets. You buy all ingredants from broker 6c for salt, 6c for pepper, 1c for tender; sell back reguardless of quantity for 13c 15 - 50 make ink. Requires minimal gathered resources. Averages 1 soft mineral and 3/4 root per ink everything else is bought from vendor. There are 3 combines to make the ink plus making wash and oil all of which are done at the chem table... so no running around. If you are a spell maker turn your pristine inks into spells (one of each spell at pristine quality) The crafting bonus for 1st time pristine is worth the effort. Just that easy. I won't say anything about the number of hours wrapped up in doing all that Candu Altings
