Anyone use ati? Just curious what everyone's results are. I can play ANY game with the HIGHEST gfx setting possible on my amd3200 1.5gig of ram and and AIW 9800
Any game that is except this one. FOR eq2 i must have the old five point two cats installed. Which is wack since i payed five hundred for this card so i could use it for tivo and such and tv dont work with them old drivers. The odd thing is Mort has the same card witha bit weaker pc (processor and ram) yet his works flawlessly with the latest drivers. Very strange I built both of these pc's and they should b identical in MOST respects. Just curious what everyone else uses. See ya on the field.

Hmm that is strange that you guys would have such different results with the same cards. WHen the game first came out I was using an NVIDIA card that BARELY met min system requirements, I basically had graphics at DOS level in order to play the game and even then I lagged like crazy in a lot of places. A couple of months ago I upgraded to a cheapo ATI card, the 9550 I think it is. Got it on clearance, but it is so much better than the old NVIDIA I was using. I can usually manage to play on "balanced" setting if I want and don't get a lot of lag in most places (Qeynos Harbor being an exception). I was a little worried when I first got the card, because there were sooooo many posts on the forums about people having problems with various ATI cards, so far I haven't run into any *knock on wood* My system is nothing spectacular, it's older, but it manages to chug along. The thing that helped me the most though was going from 512MB RAM to 1 gig.

nice ya i gotta gig and a half of fast ram. I play with the settings on high its smooth except for qh and the zone in for ss when all the dueling is going on there. Otherwise aside from the aforemention issues it runs great. It crashed a whole bunch of times in the last two days then suddenly stopped. Very strange. Scanned for any spyware or anything its clean. I do regular defrags every couple days, it really dont seem like the pc. I blaim SoE. =]

I actually kept lagging out the last 2 days also. One of the groups I was in had someone else that kept crashing too, so it probably is SOE lol

i use an NVIDIA 6800 Ultra on the highest setting. for about a month i was having intermitant problems, but it's cleared up with one of the recent updates. so it was probably SOE all along

hmm... i have no idea what i have... lol But I have everything set to high and it runs smooth. The only time item that really slows me down is enviro shadows. The only shadows that I have are torch and... something else not character or enviro though... haha Ebou would know what kind of card that I have.

I have a GeForce 6800 with 2g of Ram, yet I can barely run on the Balanced Setting. That's mainly because SOE's been screwing with something, I'm sure of it.
Shortly after I got the 6800, I could run smoothly on very high (I had to switch it down to just high in the cities). After a while, they changed something which gave me sooo much lag trying to run on those settings with any other players around. So I basically had to play on Balanced outside, and High Per inside.
Then I got another gig of RAM, and could run up to the high settings again! Soon enough, SOE changed something else, and now I basically run on balanced 90% of the time, changing down to Hi Per in certain zones (CT, SH, etc...).
I'm pretty sure I can't run any faster because of my dial-up connection, but then why could I do it before? ::shrug::

hmm... has this been happening lately? Because ebou was having trouble the other day. He had to restart his computer twice and usually he has higher settings than me and runs really, really smoothly. He was also having trouble in the cities..

I'm running the 6800GT and I've been having lots of lag in cities. It used to be smooth. I turned down my settings but it's still not as smooth as it used to be. I havn't upgraded my drivers becaused my current 77.3 work so well with BF2. Is everyone else running their newest drivers?

I have 81.85 nvidia drivers, and I still get lag in cities. So don't bother upgrading yet if you're running decently and it works with other games.

Since yesterday its crashing every ten minutes. Its crap and better clear up quick cuz i aint paying to play a game that nerfs my 400 dollar card *see: old cat drivers* just so it can crash every five minutes.
