Guild Guidelines
The name “Tairise” reflects the core values of our guild. “Tairise” was taken from the Gaelic word for "loyalty", which has two meanings: it implies a state of trust as well as consistent involvement for another's benefit. In Tairise, the goals of individual players are valued and supported, while still maintaining the goals of the guild: to foster an atmosphere of fun and respect, to advance through the game successfully and to maintain a positive reputation throughout Norrath. Guild ValuesMembers of Tairise • treat each other and fellow Norrathians with courtesy and respect • generally, follow “need before greed” looting rules in groups and raids • can expect to receive as much support as is provided to fellow Tairisians. FeesTairise requires no obligatory fees or status contribution. However, please consider that we cannot maintain our guild house and amenities without contributions from our members. Contributions may be made to guild bank #1, to the to the guild hall or to a guild officer. Alt CharactersFull members are permitted to bring alts into the guild. Alts that have not been logged in (active) at least once in the last 90 days may be removed, at the discretion of the officers. Loot Distribution at Guild RaidsThe "need before greed” principle applies at raids, as well as in groups. However, unlike group situations, in a raid, the raid leader will loot everything. At the end of the raid, the raid leader will all loot acquired to the raid chat window.
The raid leader will distribute all items based on the highest roll arising from /random 500. You may only participate in the /random 500 if you are able to use the item and you actually intend to use it rather than sell it, or if the raid leader calls the item up as a free for all (FFA).
Removal
Removal of a player from Tairise is done at the discretion of the officers; however, the following conduct will be considered cause for removal: • “botting” • Griefing • Harassment
Tairise members who have not logged in during the last 90 days will be demoted to the rank of Errant Companion. If you expect to be away for an extended period, please let the guild or the guild leadership know via email, a post in the forums, or a /tell or /gu in game. Otherwise, the guild leadership may assume the member has moved on your character may be removed.
Tairise members who leave the guild and wish to come back may be asked to re-apply and, at the discretion of the officers, may be asked to go through a further two-week trial period and evaluation process.

Tairise Guild Guidelines – Detailed view
I. Conduct II. Group/Raid Conduct III. Loot Distribution - Need before Greed IV. Loot Distribution - Guild Raids V. Contributors VI. Recruitment VII. Alt Characters VIII. Removals IX. Tairise Rank Structure X. No Drama Policy
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I. Conduct As the Guild Charter states, Tairise is basically a guild out to have dependable, trustworthy, and mature guild mates to help each other and have fun without the rigorous pressures of maintaining individual/server wide guild status. In lieu of our charter, we also have a few rules of conduct mentioned below.
[1.] We expect everyone to treat one another with courtesy, respect, and a degree of maturity.
[2.] Many guild guidelines are based on the honor system. Anyone abusing this system will be removed.
[3.] Our family style guild is not for personal gain. Tairise is NOT a house for those incessantly seeking “phat loot” or “hook ups” around the clock to better themselves, yet does not provide any assistance to the guild. Guild mates get as much as they put in.
[4.] Tairise falls under the clause “Need before Greed.”
[5.] Due to the average character level of Tairise and other aspects of our guild, the minimum recruitment level is 30. However, if you are under level 30 and have a direct relationship with any of our full members, let that member speak with the Leadership directly and we will address it accordingly.
[6.] Currently, there are no guild membership fees*. (*subject to change as guild level increases and should the guild purchase a guild house/mansion)
[7.] Harassment is not tolerated. Period. Any reported forms of harassment is cause for removal.
[8.] Tairise does not accept "griefers" and/or botters of any kind. Griefers include stealing mobs, harvesting nodes all ready being harvested, and being an all around annoyance. Botters are those described by Section 9 of the Everquest II User Agreement and Software License (UASL). Any reported forms of griefing and botting are cause for removal.
II. Group/Raid Conduct Guildmates and recruits are expected to follow the instructions of the designated group/raid leader. This is not to hinder game play or gaming style, but to ensure organization and safety.
The first priority of group members is the safety and livelihood of the group. At no time should any group members purposely endanger or compromise the group.
These guidelines also apply to Tairise members in non-guild groups/raids. While in a non-guild group, members are representing Tairise. Therefore, take pride and make Tairise shine by behaving properly in such situations.
III. Loot Distribution -- Need before Greed Group hunt options are always set to lotto or Need/Greed Options. The group member who wins the item has first priority to the item as long as they can USE it. If not, members in the group have the option to ask for the item for USE only. NOT for sale. If more than one member in the group wants the item, we will rely on the maturity of the two members in question to discuss the matter and decide who gets the item. If no one in the group is interested and/or cannot use the item, it is the lotto winner’s progative to keep the item for sale or offer the item to the guild via guild chat or the guild forums. The player(s) at the encounter that can use the item as an upgrade will ALWAYS have first rights to it. Beyond that, be generous and fair.
Note: As stated above, Tairise is based on the honor system. Anyone taking advantage of this system is cause for removal and/or more strict and strenuous precautions will take place for loot distribution for the entire guild to ensure fairness.
IV. Loot Distribution -- Guild Raids Raid loot distribution is the same as it is for group loot in the sense that it's "Need Before Greed." Unlike group loot, raid loot will go directly to the raid leader. Loot will not be set to lotto. At the end of the raid, the raid leader will present (or link) all loot acquired during the raid to the raid chat window. Everyone will have a moment to examine all the linked loot to determine whether 1) you are *able* to use it, and 2) you will *use* it and NOT sell it.
After examination, the raid leader will announce the first item available for /random 500 and will then go down the list until all items have been distributed. Again, you will only participate in the /random 500 as long as you are able to use the item and you actually intend to use it, or if the raid leader calls the item up as a free for all (FFA).
V. Contributors A contributor is a guild member who is able to gain guild experience points by completing writ and Heritage Quests found in Norrath. After completion, 10 percent of status points go towards increasing guild level (This is done automatically by SOE, don't ask us to change it. We can't!)
The guild will depend greatly on the contributors' ability to complete a number of writs and heritage quests on a consistent basis. Through the completion of these writs and heritage quests, the guild will increase in level giving us access to more items from guild merchants, more raid opportunities, and other bonus "materials."
VI. Recruitment Those interested in joining Tairise, may do so by conducting the following:
[1.] Be a minimum level of 30, Read, accept, and adhere to the Guild Charter and Guild Guidelines.
[2.] Apply via the Recruitment Office Forum and speak to a guild leader, officer, or member in game (View Roster)
[3.] Once the above has been met, players will be accepted into the guild as recruits.
[4.] All recruits will be required to go through a two-week trial period, in which, the guild will have an opportunity to assess and evaluate the recruit to ensure quality and suitability.
[5.] During the trial period, the recruit will be required to group with the guild leader and/or at least one officer and any number of guild members.
[6.] Upon completion of the two-week trial period, the recruit will be promoted to member or removed from the guild dependent upon guild majority vote.
[7.]Note: Guild cloaks are not made visible until recruits have been promoted to full members. This is a quality control measure. Thank you for your understanding.
Any recruits that are inactive for over 30 days during the recruitment period without explanation to the guild leadership, will be removed. Their forum status will be set to "Ally" and they are more than welcome to reapply, however, they will need to include why they were not successful in completing their first attempt at recruitment in their application.
Any who apply for Tairise will have a total of two chances for recruitment. After a second failed attempt, they cannot reapply.
VII. Alt Characters Tairise allows alts into the guild as long as the following is met:
1. Alts are allowed into the guild once you have become a full member of Tairise.
2. Alts must be logged in (active) at least once within 90 days -- any alts that remain stagnant passed the 90 day mark can possibly be removed. (Note: the officers or I will discuss such instances directly with the 'main' character prior to removal).
3. As always, when alts are invited into the guild and promoted to Kin, the "note" in the guild window must mention your main character's name in there some where. Example: Kendo's Angelic Alt.
Note: Alts are reserved for Tairise members, not recruits. Ranking titles are given to main characters only.
VIII. Removals Removal of members from the guild is done at the full discretion of the Tairise guild leader and its officers.
[1.] Fully enlisted Tairise guild members who have not logged into the game for over 90 days in a row WILL demtoed to rank of "Errant Companion" (i.e., Inactive) or will be removed from the guild.
Note: Leave of absence for personal reasons are completely acceptable. But, as a courtesy to the guild and the guild leadership, any members who are unable to log for an extended period of time are asked to inform the guild leadership via email, a post in the guild forums, or a /tell or /gu in game. Otherwise, the guild leadership will assume the member has "moved on" for whatever reasons and will be removed.
[2.] Fully enlisted Tairise guild members, who voluntarily leave the guild for any “negative/hostile” reasons, must re-apply (as mentioned in section VII of this document) and go through another two-week trial period and evaluation/assessment process.
Note: re-applying under these circumstances is entirely dependent upon pre-approval by the guild leader and its officers.
[3.] Fully enlisted Tairise guild members who leave for personal reasons and/or leaves the guild in good standing and would like to rejoin the guild, may or may not be asked by the guild leadership to re-apply, as described in section VII of this document, before being granted full membership.
IX. Tairise Rank Structure
1. High Councilors Leader = Lexia (although not ranked differently, Lexia is in Charge. She has final authority in all matters Tarisian)
1A. High Councilors The High Councilors use to be known as the Officers. Those in the High Council are determined by Kendo. High Councilors mainly work closely with the Guild Leader in all matters regarding the Tairise membership, as well as some of the duties described by our Officers.
2. Officer Officers take care of the day-to-day responsibilities as well as instill guidance and encouragement to our membership. Responsibilities vary greatly, but include providing information for adventurers/artisans, running events (group/raid/quest/HQ), recruitment, discussing guild matters with the High Coucil, maintaining our fun family atmosphere.
3. Squires = These are Alts of Guild Leaders. This position is used to allow a High Councillor/Officer power to take action while in the form of an Alt.
4. Elder = These are the Honored and Experienced members of Tairise. They have served the Guild faithfully and are valuable sources of information and resources. Elders shall be respected at all times. This rank is given by the High Councilors and Officers based on several criteria including time spent in Guild, Activity level, contribution to Guild (e.g., Status, Group leading, Crafting assistance supplied), general attitude and more.
5. Tarisian = This rank represents all full members of Tairise Successfully pass the 2-week recruitment period
6. Kin = This rank is reserved for alts. Only full members of Tairise (Tarisian) can have alts in the guild.
7. Errant Companion = This rank is for persons who have not logged in within the past 90 Days. This is effectively a "Limbo" for characters. Characters may be removed from guild if they are absent for too long without notifying leadership. When the player returns to game, they will be promoted out of this rank.
8. Initiates = Individuals must apply by posting an application in the Tairise Guild Forums. Any applicants requesting an invitation in-game *MUST* still apply in the guild forum titled the Tairise Recruitment Office.
X. No "Drama" Policy Tairise will not tolerate anyone harming the guild or its members therein. Anyone being a root of drama or causing any hurt to Tairise will be unceremoniously removed.
We are not saying that one outburst will be subject for removal. Rest assured, we in leadership know that everyone has feelings and emotions and we will certainly take that into consideration before any final decisions are made. That said, you may find yourself in the position of being contacted by a member of leadership and receiving an official warning to cease your current behavior with the possibility of being removed if the warning is not heeded.
Example: As previously stated, our response to drama will depend on the situation. So, for one example, fierce personal attacks in /gu is never acceptable and will possibly result in an on-the-spot removal.
Please note, taking this stance is not for us to come off as insensitive. On the contrary, taking this step is to ensure and preserve our fun/family atmosphere. We all come here to enjoy and play a game. Not to be caught up and hurt by unneeded and harmful drama.
If anyone is experiencing any harassment(s), please do not be afraid to come to the Leadership. Contact an Officer with an in-game tell or send a private message via the forums, and we will deal with the situation accordingly.
