yup. I'm at 100 skill right now also, which seems to mean I can transmute lvl 25 and below items. I too went the "make a lvl 7 on the starter isle to get stuff to transmute" and it was easy to get to 100 very quick, but yah.. I seem to have slowed down.
someone just mentioned they didn't get skill ups after 100 except by actually making things not transmuting? is this true?
also I understand your transmuting can only be as high lvl as your main skill? is that correct? if I am lvl 30 woodworker right now i could only get to the equivalent lvl in transmuting then?
at the very least its motivating me to get back into woodworking, so thats good.

I haven't reached 100 in transmuting yet....But, from what I have read, I believe that you can only skill up by making things, not just breaking them down after 100. Also, I believe they changed the requirement to have a TS level. When these secondary skills came out, it was based on your adventure level, but of course all the non-tradeskillers complained and it was changed. So, now it uses whichever is higher, adventure level or TS level. (I know this was changed, because Mehla hasn't done any Tradeskills at all, but can transmute )

Yup. I can confirm the no-skill-up-by-breaking-down-post-skill-100. Just by making the transmuter items. Note, this is not by making your regular TS adornments, but just the ones in the Transmuting recipe books (tempers, bindings, etc.).

Has anyone wound up making much progress in transmuting yet? My paladin is a work in progress on that score and is currently at... 118 I think and steadily climbing. One point to mention on transmuting is that there is an HQ that is picked up in Loping Plains that will eventually require a transmuter to make items to forge an undead slaying weapon. (the name of the quest escapes me atm) Anyway, if you have completed Restoring Ghoulbane you will be required to provide 20 enchanted adamanium, if not you need 20 of a different item, both of which are produced by 325 minimum enchanters (If my info is correct the recipe lives in Enigma of the Transmuter Vol. 7). each one required at least one t7 powder and they go for unreal prices on the broker. (multiple plat per ore last I looked) so that comes out to a TON of t7 treasured items to get this on the go. This is the quest: eq2i.com/articles/The_Symbol_in_the_Flesh-thanks to Shylah's complete list of HQ's for the answer.

Yea, I maxed my transmuter...I did it so I could do that HQ lol It actually takes 12 ores, not 20. But, it takes a TON of materials to make that many. It takes 24 powders, which on average you get 1 of for every 6-7 transmutes. So yea, unless you have probably 120+ items to be broken down, or a lot of plat, it's not an easy HQ to finish

hehe it's 350. It actually doesn't take that long if you have the materials to breakdown, hence why I just bought them all lol Once I did that, the levels zipped up ;D

I couldn't resist. I started Fasci down the path of pain that is called transmuting last night before packing up the home computer. I just... couldn't... stop.... myself!

Just curious Saine, how much do you think you spent getting Mehla up to 350?

Somewhere around 150 plat. It sounds like a lot (and it is I guess lol) but I made that back plus more very quickly by selling the adorments Saine can make, so I'd say it was worth it in the end. And no, I do NOT buy plat. Shinies have been good to me on the broker

Ooo, a good BUMP for Syani, too, who was asking about 'muting last night.
Het, you don't *need* to buy all of your "raws"; it's just faster that way. A whole LOT faster. Me, I only buy what's on sale. Mostly. Sometimes I cheat on my budget and buy more. But basically you're going to have to munge a LOT a LOT a LOT o' stuff to max out this skill.
